Chanel is marking the 104th anniversary of No. 5 with a groundbreaking limited edition that combines heritage with innovation. The special release features the first-ever Eau de Parfum Intense concentration of the legendary fragrance.
The new concentration was developed by Chanel's in-house perfumer Olivier Polge, who carefully adjusted the formula to enhance the aldehydic opening while maintaining the iconic heart of rose and jasmine from Grasse. The base notes have been enriched with sustainable sandalwood from New Caledonia, part of Chanel's commitment to responsible sourcing.
The anniversary edition comes in a refillable bottle made from 40% recycled glass, marking Chanel's continued push toward sustainability. The packaging features artwork by contemporary artist James Jean, reimagining the classic No. 5 aesthetic for a new generation.
"No. 5 continues to be timeless because it evolves while staying true to its essence," says Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Head of Global Creative Resources for Chanel Fragrance & Beauty. "This anniversary edition honors both our heritage and our future."
Limited to 50,000 bottles worldwide, the anniversary edition will be available starting August 20, 2025, priced at $285 for 100ml. The launch includes a global campaign focusing on sustainability and timeless elegance.
